Loy Krathong – Monks celebrating at Wat Pahn Tao, Chiang Mai

As many of you already know we’re in Thailand. We arrived last Thursday and we’re here to stay a few months. We’ve taken a nice and fully equipped apartment close to town, and because we have reliable internet access, yesterday we started working our normal hours (which considering the time difference are not so normal anymore – we basically start after lunch).

Anyways, life is good (so far 🙂 ) and it’s great to be here. Our arrival was timely because we got on time for Loy Krathong, the famous lantern festival. After checking my options I decided that I would go to the Pahn Tao temple (Wat Pahn Tao) to watch this Buddhist ceremony that takes place as part of the festival. The atmosphere was simply magic and although the world doesn’t need more pictures of this celebration, I couldn’t keep my hands off my camera 🙂
