That’s lovely, Carla, but I’m not sure why you’re rating my recipe as a 3 out 5 if you’ve a) never tried it, and b) are apparently morally opposed to trying something different. HA! I mean, if you haven’t given it a shot, it’s kind of silly to rate it. 🙂

I personally don’t care how the Yoopers like their pasties I, for one, do not like mine made with GR beef!! I Always dice up pork tenderloin & a marbled cut of beef. And a 3/4- 1” dice on all!! Make my dough with lard! Been doing this for 50 years & everyone (EVERYONE) loves my pasties!!

I've been searching for a great, YOOPER recipe since I lost my great grandma's recipe (the best ever), many recipes were either hard to read, to faded or didnt include measurements haha FYI - I have NEVER had gravy with my pasty!! It used to be an argument with some lol I have not tried your recipe yet but plan to this week. Your story sold it for me haha! So..I am going to have to try making the gravy as well and passing it around to all my TRUE 100% YOOPER FAMILY lol MIGHT have to pull/twist a couple of arms but I'm fairly confident that it will all work out Thank you! I will let you know the results lol

Excellent presentation on pasties. Need to print this out and make them. I’m in Arkansas and they were known as fried pies to take to work and eat holding them.
