Dr. Paula Bu is a Board Certified adult psychiatrist who treats psychiatric conditions including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, and PTSD.
In addition to medication management, she is available for psychotherapy. She incorporates multiple modalities including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness to provide individualized treatment. She can collaborate with your existing therapist if your need at this time is primarily medication management. She works with those struggling with work-life balance, interpersonal relationships, and life transitions. She also has significant experience treating college students, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people of color.
She has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals in gynecologic oncology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and psychiatry, and has presented her work nationally. She supervises Psychiatry resident physicians at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Bu graduated from Harvard College with High Honors in the Comparative Study of Religion. She received her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University with a certificate in clinical translational research. She completed her Adult Psychiatry residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. She received additional psychotherapy training through the Preparatory Program in Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychotherapy at the New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute, America’s oldest psychoanalytic organization.

If you have out-of-network reimbursement with your insurance plan, we will be happy to supply invoices for services rendered and bills paid, so that patients may submit for partial reimbursement to their insurance companies. Call for information. Patients may also use HSA accounts for our services.
